Voting Now Open for 2013 National TV Awards

     The 2013 National TV Awards have just opened up voting and none other than your favorite heroes have been nominated.

     Matt Smith is up for Drama Performance: Male; there are 28 other nominations in this category, which include Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman (Sherlock), Kevin Whately (Lewis) and Sir Kenneth Branagh (Wallander). The show itself has been nominated for the Drama category. Even though Doctor Who is up against roughly 35 other shows, our votes over here in the Big Blue Police Box, will always be for The Doctor and his companions!  takes place until Thursday 11th October. Up to four nominees from each of the categories with the most votes will then go forward to be included in the shortlist voting round (date to be announced).

Description: Upright insect like creatures, with a lethal sting.

                                   

More Info: The Wirrn live in deep space, and travel to a planet to breed, and lay eggs inside of cattle. When the larvae emerge, they feed on the animal or "host" in which they were laid.

Peg Dolls

Doctor Encountered: Eleventh

                                      

Description: Giant dolls made of wood, wearing Edwardian dresses.

                                      

More Info: They were inside a dolls house, inside a wardrobe, banished there by a "child," George. In fact, George was no child, but alien Tenza child, who desperately wanted to fit into his human family. George would banish things to the wardrobe, if they frightened him. Including The Doctor, his dad, Alex, (including a doll house with the Peg Dolls inside). They were all later released when George realized that The Doctor was trying to help him, and that his parents loved him.

Description: In their natural forms, the Rutans resemble large green jelly fish, with long ropy tentacles. They are amphibious and can cling 
to sheer vertical surfaces, with 
decent mobility out of the water. They can generate lethal electrical shocks, and seem to be able to absorb electrical energy, as sustinance.
